Marine seismology

Research

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. My research focuses on using seismic and hydroacoustic observations to investigate submarine volcanic activity, unconventional seismic sources, and earthquake processes.

My current work includes hydroacoustic monitoring of submarine volcanic eruptions; the vocal types, individual calling behavior, and temporal patterns of fin whales; source properties of volcanic earthquakes in Antarctica; and the detection, location, and high-precision relocation of seismic events. I develop and apply quantitative signal-processing and source-location methods to extract physical information from complex seismic and acoustic data.

Background

I received my Ph.D. from the University of Science and Technology of China in 2024. Before that, I earned my B.S. from Chengdu University of Technology in 2018.

Since 2024, I have been a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at The Chinese University of Hong Kong.
